What customers say?

“ If you're traveling through the area, take the detour for this amazing coffee shop. This is a true coffee shop and their commitment to a tasty drink that isn't a cup of artificial flavors and sugar is why I chose to try this place out. If you love good coffee and appreciate a single origin coffee, then this place is for you. ”

“ Grounding is a truly next level café experience. Tucked away from the well worn path and stewarded with so much love and intention, its quiet strength is palpable and welcoming. Home to many souls who have come to cherish its offerings, Grounding is a safe, soft space to land, slow down, and find your center in a world of seemingly endless hustle and bustle. Kris, the owner and operator, has mindfully curated a menu where delicious indulgence meets wholesome nutrition. Each ingredient gets its opportunity to dance across your taste buds as simplicity accentuates high-quality selections, and the depth of conversation, compassion, and critical thinking is nourishing to the body, mind, and soul. I've been blessed to witness firsthand how much care goes into this space, each and every day. Bring an open mind and a heart brave enough to try something new, and let Grounding do the rest. ”

“ I’m from the DC area and I was visiting my girlfriend’s hometown. She wanted to check this place out. Grounding has a very calming atmosphere. The owner and employees were very kind and inviting. Now for the coffee: hands down the best espresso I’ve ever had. Not only were the beans high quality, the owner prepared the espresso like he’s been doing it his whole life. After chatting with him, you can sense the passion he holds for coffee. Unfortunately, this experience has ruined all the local coffee shops for me in the DC area. I’ll need to make the occasional 1.5 hour trip to PA to get some coffee from Grounding (oh and to see my girlfriend) ”

“ Amazing coffee, amazing atmosphere, what more could you ask for? Situated in an old industrial area, this large, attractively-themed coffee shop and cafe should be a morning staple if you are in the area. ”

“ The latte I got was the best I have had in a long time, and I drink a lot of coffee. The atmosphere is gorgeous down to the cups that they use. I love the organic and non-processed options! I also love that they have artwork and goods from local sellers. I am only giving it 3 stars because I would say it is not the best place to bring kids. The barista (possibly owner?) took it upon himself to correct my well-behaved children for walking too loudly upstairs while retrieving some kids books from the shelf to read. He told them that their footsteps were disturbing people downstairs. There was no one downstairs except for outside and only one man with headphones on upstairs with us who stayed to himself and didnt complain at all. After that, we didn't feel too welcome to stay and left. I would go back for a delicious cup of coffee to-go, just not with my children. Suggestion- Maybe have more seating down stairs and outside if you want the inside area to remain absolutely silent. Outside seating seemed pretty full, and it is getting too cold in the year to have very little ones outside for too long. There is really nowhere to sit downstairs with kids unfortunately, so upstairs was the only decent option. EDIT: I feel the right thing to do is update my review after my latest interaction. I went back today with my mother-in-law so she could try the amazing coffee. We did bring my kids inside with us for a cup of coffee to-go. The barista today was the owner's wife. She was as sweet as can be, and she makes perfect 10/10 lattes just like her husband (my mother-in-law finished her to-go latte before we even left the building). We talked a little, and she did acknowledge that the business is not the most kid friendly place due to the layout of the building (lots of echoing). She said her husband was upset about previously having made us feel unwelcome and that it was unintentional. She even made adorable little "kid coffees" for our children with steamed milk and molasses in espresso cups (they loved them). We will come back soon to try some food and have some drinks with the kids. We will try to get a seat outside, as we were told that the outdoor area is heated! Thank you for taking the time to talk things out with me. I'm loving the positive vibes ”

“ Grounding is such a beautiful and peaceful gem! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying a great cup of coffee. The space is thoughtfully designed, with calming decor that makes you want to stay a while. One of the things that really sets Grounding apart is their yoga room such a unique and mindful touch. Whether you’re stopping by for a quiet moment, catching up with a friendly , this place truly lives up to its name. Highly recommended! ”

“ A Family owned business and I love that! Lattes were very delicious and food was very fresh and tasty. It's an awesome place to let the stress of your life go in their upstairs meditation room. There is an area where your child can play while you have a coffee with a friend. Sweet place. ”
